Amander Liew Instagram – The feeling of not knowing what to do when your child is unwell is the worst feeling on earth. And as much as I hope I would never have to experience it again for the rest of my life, I know the chances are that I most probably will.

Ari caught RSV earlier this week; and as the mother of a month-old boy, all I could do was give him the best medical care I could possibly give him, pray, and wait it out patiently. But as parents, you can’t help but feel guilty for not taking care of him better, and ask yourself what you could’ve done differently to change it all.

I knew being a parent would be hard, but the hardest part is seeing your child in pain and not being able to do anything to relieve it. But I told myself that I had to be strong and encouraging because I’m sure he can sense the energy around him. We just stayed by his side as he went through treatment, however torturous his cries sounded, and cheered him on. Thankfully he’s finally getting better (praise the Lord).
