Amber Anderson Instagram – The waders looked more chic in my head… 🙃 🌻 Spent a blissful afternoon yesterday on Ryde Beach with @wwf_uk and @projectseagrass learning about this magical plant. An incredible ally in the fight against climate change, seagrass captures carbon roughly 35 times faster than tropical rainforests, accounting for 10-18% of total ocean carbon storage despite covering less than 0.1% of the seafloor. 🌱 Yet, over the last century, we have lost up to 92% of our seagrass meadows in the UK. Global estimates suggest we lose an area of seagrass equivalent to two football pitches every hour. Yesterday, we waded out into the shallows and tried to harvest the seeds so that @projectseagrass can replant even more next year.
