Ashley Williams Instagram – This live photo perfectly encapsulates us: Intensely talking, then suddenly a light is on us and she’s beautiful and I’m slightly confused. 😂 See— we do all this work stuff together— parties and red carpets and events. Hosting fundraisers and holding up each others work. But what’s funny is — it would be so easy for us to have a lovely, light relationship. We’d hug and check in and then turn our backs and go about our jobs. But that’s not us. Every time we are in the same space we have these intimate conversations One time I got overwhelmed at a convention— someone asked me if I needed water and I said “can you get Nikki?” She’s this force in my life that brings stability, humor, wisdom, grace… sometimes tequila. We laugh so much. We talk about writing. We work together to champion the @alzassociation to cope with our grief. I text her with pictures of questionable rashes on my kids to see what she thinks I should do. We gather at her house with a group of women strong as oak. I am so damn lucky, Nikki, that I have you. Happy birthday. Thank goodness you were born.
