Beverly Joubert Instagram – Concealed in the undergrowth, this leopard took a brief moment to relax, her eyes and ears intensely tuned to the possibility of approaching danger. Leopards lead mostly solitary lives, typically dictated by food, courtship and the harsh demands of survival. Secretive and shy, it’s a life lived out largely beyond the reach of human eyes. Yet, despite their elusive nature, resilience and adaptability, leopards are still threatened by habitat loss and conflict with humans. Their populations have diminished by about 30% in the last two decades and they are now extinct in many territories they once called home.
