Did you know that ICU rooms in hospitals are exempt from GST? That’s right! If you or a loved one is in the ICU, no matter the cost of the room, the hospital cannot charge GST.
ICU services are considered essential and life-saving, which is why they don’t come under the same tax rules as regular rooms. But for other rooms that cost over ₹5,000 per day, you’ll be charged a 5% GST.
