If your hospital room costs less than ₹5,000 per night, there shouldn’t be any GST added to your bill—none at all!
Generally, the healthcare services provided by a hospital are exempt under GST. But if the room rate is more than ₹5,000 per night, then a 5% GST is charged.
Always double-check your bill to make sure you’re being charged correctly. If something doesn’t seem right, you can file a complaint with the GST Department through their official portal at cbic-gst.gov.in.
