Cush Jumbo Instagram – This is my primary school teacher Angela or as I called her then ‘Mrs Stevens’. She taught me 26 years ago between the ages of 7 and 10 years old and she changed my life. She encouraged my love of reading and words, she gave me emotional stability and she made me feel like I could do anything. After teaching me for two years she recommended to my parents and the council that I should skip my last year of primary school and go straight to secondary school. She told me that she always knew I’d be a writer and actor. Tonight she saw me play Hamlet. Teachers: You do a draining, underpaid, bureaucracy-filled shit-heap of a job but my God it’s one the most important jobs in the world. Thank you for looking out for the little Cush’s in your class.
