Visiting the @herorats (APOPO) facility in Tanzania this July was an unforgettable experience. Both Jane and filmmaker Richard Ladkani were captivated by the so-called „HeroRATs,“ trained by a dedicated team to detect landmines, diagnose tuberculosis, and locate earthquake victims. Their incredible sense of smell rivals the best sniffer dogs, and their light weight makes them perfect for safely navigating minefields.
