Jen Gunter Instagram – The 2022 @menopause_society Guidelines for hormone therapy hold. Menoinfluencers who criticize the guidelines as being out of date are either unaware of the guidelines and the data are or cherry picking. I said what I said.

I urge people to reference what they hear online with the Menopause Society Guidelines. There are plenty of good reasons to prescribe hormone therapy that we don’t need to invent more! And scaring women by creating fear of missing out is cruel.

Also, a lot of frustration at this meeting about disinformation online from menopause influencers. It came up in many question sessions.

How do people profit by going against the guidelines?

Claiming they “know more” and creating FOMO to drive social media engagement, as a larger following can be used to make money from ads or selling supplements. This technique also drives people to extremely expensive concierge practices under the illusion that these health care professionals “know more.”

Over prescribing testosterone because it requires blood levels, which are a way to make money.

Recommending compounded hormones, which provide the illusion of customization but are in reality less safe. Blood levels are also typically done here, also a way to make money.

Making money from pellets. Increasing revenue is literally a selling point from these businesses! | Posted on 13/Sep/2024 21:45:51
