It’s no secret that Waitress has been a dream show for me, and you might think it’s because I wanted to sing this phenomenal score…but there’s more to it than that. I wanted to play a deeply nuanced woman, who completely lost herself and, through circumstance, cracked her world open and found a new version of who she is…someone who is healed, yet still beautifully broken and vulnerable. In finding Jenna, I found some of myself, too, and I’m very proud of that. ❤️ This is a true ensemble piece, and everyone involved is stunning. I am very lucky to be here with every single of them. (PS: By the end of the show, one of my castmates had to pull my eyelash off in the hospital bed because I SWEAT IT OFF LAST NIGHT). #shesabeast Lastly, thank you for welcoming me back, St. Louis. And thank you to everyone who joins us over the next 7 days! Xx #waitress #broadway #themuny #stillsweating

UPDATE: Does this costume make me look pregnant? While I’m 100% NOT prego, I will be donning a hospital gown on August 13th for a back surgery. Truth be told, since mid June, I have been working around a herniated disc that broke in half and a big piece lodged itself onto my sciatic nerve. Special, isn’t it???? So, after an epidural and a very rough 6 weeks of pain management, I’m off to get this bad boy fixed. It’s minimally invasive surgery with hardly any down time, which is a blessing. But I’ll be taking a month off to heal since this has been agonizing pain. I’ll take any and all good vibes bc this is a scary first for me. ❤️ Also, thanks for understanding if I can’t stage door every night due to the pain!
Oh hi, Mr. Lincoln! Flashback to the White House State Dinner with Lea last year. A bucket list moment in so many ways. Directed by the inimitable @michaelarden, we had the time of our lives. One week til the journey with Waitress begins. This song has quickly become my favorite. Maybe because it’s about your life changing instantly when you become a parent…or maybe because after losing a parent, you wonder what it was like for them to meet you. This will be an emotional one, and I just can’t wait. I hope to see you there. #waitress #broadway
Don’t call it a comeBACK…apparently I tell Dad jokes now since sitting on my ass and recovering—but once I’m fully healed, I’m bringing some new concerts your way. Malibu and Orem, I cannot WAIT. PS: swipe for the setlist add, minus the pregnancy and the broken disc. (It’s a reh video!) #broadway #concert #waitress #surgey #comeback

This year, we welcomed Grammy Award–winning clarinetist and bandleader @paquitodrivera to take it for a spin and tell us more about his personal connection to Goodman and to Carnegie Hall. While best known today as a world-renowned concert hall, Carnegie Hall has a long history as a center for political discourse, activism, and social change. In this week’s episode of “If This Hall Could Talk”—inspired by a booklet and button from a 1910 Woman Suffrage Party Convention—we explore how a series of meetings at Carnegie Hall contributed to an evolving national dialogue on women’s rights across the United States. First Fashion Week was unforgettable, and I felt like a boss in this blazer. I had no idea what I was doing, so I called a high-fashion friend who said: “just act like you do!” (Ty @caitlinburkenyc). An honor to be there to celebrate all things Christian Cowan, and see his genius brought to life boldly, with the most magical backdrop. (Also I’m now very aware of how short I am, so that’s fun!!) No I am not dramatic, I do not live for the drama.
What do we name this girl group and WHERE THE HELL is Patti Lupone?
