Johanna Griggs Instagram – We have such a heart warming story coming your way tonight on @bhgaus You will meet FTD Founder Ryan Wilson – an electrician who has helped hundreds of people and plans to expand the idea of ‘Free Trade Day’ across Australia to help thousands more.
‘Free Trade Day’ is a special event in the year where people who can’t afford to pay a tradesperson, get free help from hundreds of generous tradies who volunteer their services to help with some of the small jobs they desperately need done in their homes.
We meet Elizabeth who was hospitalised with an infection and whilst she was in hospital had a major stroke, leaving her having to learn how to walk, talk and eat again. She and her husband Paul have had their lives turned upside down – and with all of the surgeries and rehab, needed help with some small jobs around their home. We also meet the parents of Aleisha who is a widowed mother of 3 young children who lost her husband early last year.
Their stories are heartbreaking, but the gratitude they have for the wonderful tradies is something to behold.
This year Free Trade Day is going to be held on Oct 25 on the Central Coast of NSW. Applications are open now and so far… many companies, the @lionsclubs and 160 tradies (a record for the event) have volunteered their services.
