The title of the exhibition, “Field of view” speaks to the subjectivity of Casteel’s particular vantage point, from which each composition represented here originates. The photographic connotations of the term reference Casteel’s practice of observation; her perspective of a specific moment dictates what is centered in the frame. ⁠
