Julia Quinn Instagram – What am I reading? I’m glad you asked! Four Weekends and a Funeral is @elliepalmerwrites’s debut, and is fantastic! Alison attends her ex-boyfriend’s funeral only to discover no one knows he dumped her…and ends up having to pack up his apartment with his grumpy best friend, Adam. This book was funny and serious at the same time, with characters who were flawed and wonderful and real—give it a try!
I read What Looks Like Bravery by @laurel_braitman last year and had hoped to include it with my Today Show picks, but we didn’t have enough time. It just came out in paperback, so I’m telling you about it now—Laurel’s memoir is deeply moving and at times funny and absurd—her dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer quite young and Laurel spent her childhood being taught all the things he thought she’d need to learn without him, leaving her with a unique and complicated sense of loss after he finally passed. As many of you know, I lost my father a few years ago. Laurel’s journey wasn’t my journey, but it nonetheless spoke to me… and if there’s a sisterhood of women with —unique— dads, we’re both in it. I wholeheartedly recommend this book!
Finally, we all love @officialmegcabot, and (YAY) one of her earliest books has been re-released! Educating Caroline is everything you’d want in a historical romance—if you missed it when it came out over 20 years ago, get thee to a bookstore! You’re going to love it! | Posted on 10/Sep/2024 00:29:25
