HERE IS THE TEA:

I spent most of July in Cedars Sinai hospital where an incredible team of doctors helped me fight for my life. I was diagnosed with sepsis due to a full body strep infection(the flesh eating variety), pneumonia, and anemia.

These circumstances not many survive. The doctors, and my family didn’t know if I would. And then there was the realization I had, that I didn’t know if I was going to survive either.

I share all of this today, because in that terrifying, time bending moment – when I faced death in the face- I made a choice.

Fear had almost blinded me from seeing this other path, but by the grace of that which created me…I began to do the simplest and most powerful thing I could: I started saying thank you for what I was grateful for in my life. I was alone in my hospital room, scared to shaking that I was loosing my life light, when I started speaking these gratitudes outloud.

With tears of panic and desperation, I started my prayer of thanks with my beautiful son Asher, and the joy of being able to see him grow …followed by as many beautiful things and people in my life as I could articulate.
I was afraid to stop so I didn’t stop speaking aloud until I finished saying thank you for everyone I thought had hurt me, betrayed me…the mistakes I made, the shameful moments I regret, the disappointments I accrued, the people I had been envious of, those who rejected me, and the angels in disguise I had sometimes called my enemies.
When there was nothing left to say, I let go…and fell asleep.

When I woke up(praise be!!), my heart rate had come down – it was not leaving the 140’s and now was steadily decreasing! Within 12hrs I was told my body had responded extremely fast to the antibiotics, and they were hopeful I was going to make it. My lungs were drained and cleared up exceptionally fast.

Thank you to those donors of blood (5 bags!) who helped me rebuild my blood supply. Hearing “your blood is clean now!” was nothing short of a miracle.

I had to have surgery on both knees – TWICE- to clean them out bc apparently (continued in comments) | Posted on 01/Sep/2024 07:48:13
