Eric and I travelled a lot together. Every time I always swore to myself, never again. But then I would call him up and say, “wanna go somewhere?” I like to travel solo. But I honestly loved traveling with Eric and missed him when he wasn’t there. I will miss our adventures like you can’t believe. This is a picture I took of Eric’s back in St Lucia. We’d woken up to the news that #marriageequality had finally been made the #lawoftheland back home. We were having breakfast on the terrace of my hotel room, and a blazing rainbow was gloriously hanging there before us. He stared at it a long time. I don’t know what he was thinking, but I know it was a very powerful and meaningful moment for him, particularly. I miss you, Eric. I would have gone anywhere with you, bub. @ergill2
And today we’re in #Paris. It’s been an insane and difficult few days, believe it or not. Despite our good fortune to be able to travel and live relatively privileged lives, life is still life, and bad things happen, and sad and difficult things happen, and we have frustration and sorrow and confusion and anger like anyone else. I’m very lucky to be embarking on a little #vacation & to bring my mom @shelley_plimpton with me. It’s sorely, truly needed. We’ve both been through a whole lot of bullshit this past year, believe me. And it ain’t over. It’s so important in the midst of everything to remember that #worry and #upset serve no actual #purpose. Things will happen the way they will, without any help or hindrance from us. So now we’re in Paris, reminding ourselves to #breathe. And thank #babyjeebuss for #Walter. I only wish I had @karaleemo’s #innerfrenchperson with me because my French suques.
