Nilusi Nissanka Instagram – This is me in Sri Lanka. My missing child.
Life’s been so challenging the last few months but ive learned a lot about who i wanna be and where i wanna go. And most of all, who I used to be. I realized that to fully accept myself and give the best of me, I had to dig into my roots and into the culture in which I grew up. I was born in Paris but all my childhood, i was in Buddhist temples, I learned Sinhalese there. I only talk Sinhalese with my parents. I never shared about that background but it’s such a huge part of me. The music, the food, the culture, everything is so singular and rich.
Im starting to reconnect to my inner child and those roots.. The feeling is insane. That’s what I was missing and I just found it. I guess it’s never too late. I’m already planning to go back there really soon.
This project is taking time but believe me when I say the more I’ll be true to myself, the more my project will be raw and beautiful. Those songs already sound like the realest shit I’ve ever done. | Posted on 30/Sep/2022 02:24:15
