Now, I don’t mean that in a “you should change how you look to fit society’s expectations and you’ll feel better” kinda way. I just mean that nurturing your soul by going for the haircut or getting an epic mani or putting on a 100% YOU outfit might just be one of the best pick me ups out there, if those kinds of things bring you joy. Which, as you can tell, they do bring me. These seemingly superficial things truly get me grounded in who I am when I’m feeling all over the place and allow me to express that, even on the days when my head and mouth are struggling to. Silly to some but perhaps makes all the sense to others?
