Tips to travel 🧳 to Japan on a budget-
Capsule Hotels-uniquely Japanese experience and usually cost less than traditional hotels.
Some manga cafés offer overnight stays in small private booths with internet access and basic amenities.
Temple stays- in some parts you can explore very simple temple stays ( includes meals)
Budget Food
– Convenience Stores (Konbini): Stores like 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart have a wide selection of affordable and surprisingly good food, including bento boxes, onigiri (rice balls) and other ready-to-eat meals.
– Street Food: Japan offers various street foods BUT this is mostly non vegetarian.
Chain Restaurants: Look for affordable chain restaurants like Sukiya, Yoshinoya, and Matsuya, which offer rice bowls (donburi) and other dishes at very reasonable prices.
Conveyor Belt Sushi): These sushi restaurants are usually more affordable than traditional sushi place.
Travel – choose the Japan Rail Pass and buy it in India before you go. It’s cheaper! Saves a lot of money if you wanna travel the length and breath of Japan.
Budget Shopping
🛒 100-Yen Shops: Stores like Daiso and Seria offer a wide range of products for just 100 yen (about $1)
My favourite was Don Quijote where you get everything under the Sun from cosmetics to snacks to souvenirs.( went there on my last day and filled up my bag 💼)
Akihabara for electronics! From a wire to a photo to laptops to gaming equipment. This is geeky gadget freaks heaven!
