Shilpa Rao Instagram – It was a balmy April afternoon when we reached Shilpa Rao’s minimalist, spacious, tastefully done up apartment.
Have always loved this super-talented, versatile Bollywood singer who can rock every single song she lends her voice to.
My list of her songs include Khuda Jaane, Ghungroo, Chaleya, Bulleya, Kaavaala, Subhanallah, Malang, Dheere Dheere and of course Tere Hawale. (This one is on the loop! :)) I have always felt a special connect to her because of my Jharkhand roots. Ranchi-Jamshedpur.
Once the shoot was done, Shilpa treated us to the best filter coffee I’ve have ever had and with that our candid conversation began as we settled down on the comfortable sofa facing the wide open windows.
It went on for a long time and I came away with a bundle of interesting anecdotes. Her attitude to life, her frankness, her humility, her single-minded dedication to music, inspired and moved me. Love you @shilparao Thank you for your time and for your patience!
