As of June 2024, over 600,000 Sudanese refugees fled to Chad since the conflict began last year-many of whom are children, completely disrupting their lives in #Sudan.
Our teams spoke with Sudanese refugee children living in Adré transit camp and listened to their stories. Many spoke of adapting to food insecurity, living without electricity, and missing the comfort of home and being able to learn in school. Many are also supporting their parents by helping care for their siblings.
They also shared their hopes for the future. Many expressed a strong desire to become doctors so they can help take care of people, while 11-year-old Ouman wishes to volunteer at the camp and help distribute aid. “I want to change things for the better for people.”
