Viva Bianca Instagram – Je t’aime Paris ❤️💙
This was my 5th trip to Paris and here are 5 things I think I now know:
1. Fashion. Merci in Le Marais is a must. But while most Paris frequenters will know that Le Marais and St Germain are the fashion hubs in Paris, I recommend checking out the boutiques in parts of Bastille – which is also brimming with fashion, food, drink and youth culture. Such. A. Vibe. Also, traveling to Paris in mid-August is great timing (hint: Sales).
2. Beaujolais is a revelation 🍷.
3. Our visit to the Eiffel Tower was the first and last paid tour I’ll ever do in Paris (possibly anywhere?). In fairness, Tony arranged it “for the kids”. But after over an hour spent standing in intolerable lines (in the blazing sun) and squashed up against stranger’s backpacks like cattle in the lift that took us up to the 2nd level, our Eiffel Tower segment was the least pleasant thing we did. Granted the tour (and guide himself) did provide comic relief for days to come and inspired a comedy series premise: ‘Organized Fun’ 😅.
4. Parisians have every right to be culture snobs. Their culture is superior. “End of discussion” (said like Bernie Sanders 😄).
5. People told us to skip Paris on our French trip because of our kids (they won’t appreciate it, they’ll feel cooped up, etc). But after the first half day of level 10 whingeing, our kids were totally on board. After all, Parisians have kids too. There are parks with playgrounds all over the city, frothy coffees for them to scoop (yep we give our kids coffee froth), French fries in most restaurants (✔️), countless cobble stone streets to explore and that set the stage tor multiple ‘What’s the Time Mr Wolf’ games, a big ass River to run along (Bonjour la Seine), and our kids are partial to some retail therapy (apple doesn’t fall far from the tree 🤭).
P.s we had planned on taking our kids to Paris Disneyland, but after our headliner experience on the Eiffel Tower tour, we pivoted 🤷🏼♀️.
