Anika Noni Rose Instagram – I haven’t known what to say. I hate this.
This first pic isn’t where we met, it’s where we solidified. We played sisters, and realized we actually looked alike. There are many pics with us having the same facial expressions or body position, unplanned.
We realized pulling out of the set parking lot one night that we had the same car in different colors.
Our roots were from the same city, and we decided we were probably cousins. Doesn’t matter if we were or not- we had decided.
We called each other the Wondertwins. We talked about deep life things, and real silly stuff. I taught her how everybody looks like an animal. She didn’t believe it- till she did.
A beautiful singer, a sensitive spirit, an art lover, a polyglot, a talented actor. She was well read, well traveled, and a bad-ass cook. She was brave.
We riffed off of each other and laughed until we cried.
She was a singular being.
She was the Jolly Green Giant to my sprout.
She was kind and funny and smart and full of depth and love. And like a true Virgo, she had things she’d never tell. Including this illness.
I will miss you so much Erica. This was shocking and awful, but you did it (as usual) your way.
