Anne Rice Instagram – This is @christopher.rice.writer . Sharing more intimate and never before seen family photographs of our ur of Italy in 1996. The trip was a celebratiotn of my graduation with high school which, after I threatened to run off with a theater group junior year, was not a foregone conclusion. As I shared in a previous post, Anne had recently published MEMNOCH THE DEVIL and I believe had already begun or finished the writing of SERVANT OF THE BONES when these were taken. At the time, Anne’s last trip to Italy had been in either ’77 or ’78, when she was pregnant with me, but she’d never visited the country with my father. Not included, the furtive shot she took of my father right after he took his shirt off in their hotel room after a long day. I’m so glad so many of you are enjoying these memories as much as I am. It feels me with gratitude to go through these old photographs and to share them with you.
