Cloudy Zackrocki Instagram – Why do I feel so calm watching “Nobody wants this”?
Obviously I gave into the hype and obviously I binge watched the @netflix show “Nobody wants this” in one go and obviously I think a grown up Seth Cohen is just what all of us millennials have been waiting for and obviously I think the show is cute, BUT…
… I was surprisingly calm and emotionless whilst watching it, in the sense of: I expected to feel all the feelings and sob my little single eyes out whilst watching and randomly text my friends some incoherent stuff about how true love exists, but…
… NOTHING. Except feeling calm and cute after I finished my binge. Super random, I know!!
But then I got into thinking why I had such a reaction and the only conclusion I came to was that in the end that is what you should feel when the connection to someone is healthy: calm (at least when you believe the Buddhists). The ultimate takeaways of this series for me are that a healthy, adult relationship consists of open and honest communication, of not listening to what anyone says, of not projecting old wounds into the new person, and of the fact that if the feelings are real, you’ll figure everything else out.
As simple as that. As calm and cute as that.
