RAYE Instagram – Montreux Jazz Festival was the first time my Swiss🇨🇭Grandad ~ Hans Fuchs ever saw me perform, he doesn’t speak great English but after the show he held me in arms and told me with his beautiful rough voice ‘I am so proud of you’ and I cried my little eyes out. 🥹 (that’s him in the picture)
Playing this festival was one of the greatest honours that me and the band have ever shared.
It was ELECTRIC, we left the stage bursting with joy and gratitude and HAPPINESS, I couldn’t even sleep that night, just to be respected and received and appreciated on that sacred stage was just a true dream come true
This was a moment we had to press onto Vinyl to share with you.
I hope you will enjoy this live album as much as we THRIVED up there on that stage this summer, I hope you will feel it with your ears.
It also features a cover of a man’s man’s world, which I had only rehearsed twice before singing and maybe I screamed a bit too hard and could have made some better note choices but fck it I love it anyway
