Adrienne C. Moore Instagram – H A P P Y J U N E T E E N T H. What to post on this glorious day of our liberation. None other than the thing that still restricts us with our hair. This article in the @nytimes has so much information, I couldn’t share it all in one post. But I urge everybody that is or knows a black woman, to share this with them. Whether you still relax your hair or not, this is helpful information to know and more importantly pass on. This article points to research about certain hair products, chemicals, dyes and even hair add-ins etc marketed to women of color, that may be damaging to women and children long term. It points to the correlation of hair perms to reproductive disorders, uterine fibroids, breast and ovarian cancers in women of color.

Thank you to female researchers like Tamara James-Todd and Adana Llanos, who have been researching and fighting to get this information to the public for years. Thank you @linda_villarosa for writing this article. I hope everybody sees this and spreads the word. Link in bio!
Liberate yo’ self from the “creamy crack” if you haven’t already.
Thank you my dear @bornokwui for sharing this with me. Passing it on
