Angel Olsen Instagram – Introducing Cosmic Waves Volume 1.
As someone that emerged into the music scene through a small tape label, I’ve wanted to continue the spirit of discovery and collaboration.
Cosmic Waves Volume 1 is a curated two sided project. Side A is an original song from the artists I curated, a song of their choosing. Side B is a collection of songs from the same artist sung, played and recorded by me. I feel there is something unique and special about covering another artist’s song. The artists I have curated for this compilation include: @poppyjeancrawford , @coffinprick , @sarahgracewhite_ , @maximludwig and @campsainthelene
Thank you to all of them for their artistry and collaboration. Thank you to all of you for embarking with us on this experiment.
“Glamorous” by Poppy Jean Crawford and my take on her song “The Takeover” are both out now. ‘Cosmic Waves Volume 1’ out Dec. 6th on my label @somethingscosmiclabel in partnership with @jagjaguwar , on all streaming services and on very limited edition – 1500 LPs printed. You can pre order it via the link in bio.
To celebrate the release – we will be throwing a release event in Los Angeles on December 6 at In The Meantime, where all of the artists will be performing, along with some very special guests. Tickets to the event include an LP and are on sale Friday at 10am.
