Anjelika Washington Instagram – Today is the day🗳️ As a black American, a woman, an artist, and a survivor of gun violence, who I choose to support is never taken lightly. It is very serious. And elections have consequences. I am fully aware of all options on the ballot and I am choosing wisely. Not with just my feelings but with facts. Since well, again, elections have consequences. I refuse to go backwards. We deserve better. Our families deserve better. Our friends deserve better. Our future selves and future children deserve better. I understand that the 2 party system sucks, and there are many other options on the ballot. However, it is a fact that only 1 of the 2 major parties will win. It’s not right, I don’t like it, I don’t support it. I know I have work to do to help dismantle the current 2 party system. But unfortunately that dismantling cannot be done today. So with that being said, and just like the flight attendants tell you, “put your face mask on first.” I am urging you to vote for yourself, your communities, and your future. If going backwards is your future- then more power to you… But if a new future where the patriarchy, white supremacy, and the 2 party system are dismantled- put on your face mask and let’s get to work! We can’t help others if we don’t help ourselves first. Trickle down economics doesn’t work and neither does trickle down politics.
