I’ve been speaking so much in my classes lately about trusting yourselves. If you don’t trust yourself, and if you don’t believe in yourself, how are you going to captivate your audience and make them watch you / believe in you and your character that you are portraying ? As dancers, as artists, as storytellers, we have the opportunity to create and play with every single piece that we perform and learn. Some days we may play so confident and so powerful and other days we may be more sweet, timid, and coy… THAT is what makes dance so magical ✨ We have so many different versions of ourselves when we dance.. our alter egos, if you will. This piece was alllll about essence, old-school Hollywood glam, presence, and really performing as if we were on the largest stage in the world.. really & truthfully playing that Marilyn Monroe character 💋
