Being part of this corporate panel discussion, made me think about so many things we often overlook.
I also realized how much weight the word “masculinity” carries—the unspoken expectation to be strong and not show vulnerability.
Got to know how men don’t praise each other enough. They hold back, worried they’ll be taken the wrong way? And what about paternity leave? Even if the organization grants it, men don’t take it, fearing that their career’s pace will be affected or What will people think, “why does he have to be at home?” How previous sports stars like Sachin and likes operated and how these days Virat and Rohit operate.
The stories we explored left me thinking: It’s not about men vs. women. It’s about rethinking what we’ve all been taught about masculinity.
Being “the man” isn’t about proving anything. It’s about showing up, with kindness, authenticity, and without the baggage of outdated stereotypes.
