It’s a perfect blend of the new and the old, with a great mix of the most electic cusines, magnificent architecture, fantastic shopping and rich heritage! Love the cats, hamams, teas and turkish brews!
My favourite places in Turkey include the Galata Tower because I get a 360 degrees of the whole of Istanbul! It’s very touristy and the sunset is the most beautiful from there. But personally Ortokoy and Besiktas is where most locals hang and I love going there too. Banyan at Ortokoy is one of my favourite bars for delicious drinks and a sundowner. Balat is another vibrant neighbourhood filled with lovely quaint cafés and incredible food. Mehmet e fendi is my fav place for Turkish coffee at the spice market. And shopping at Istiklal street and Beyoğlu is wonderful.
And when in Istanbul, a Turkish Hamam is a must. My recommendation is Kilic Ali Pasa Hamam. I can surely say I’m in a beautiful love affair with Istanbul!”
