Aakansha Monga Instagram – What is the craziest thing you’ve witnessed while travelling?

People walking on stilts made of wood- CRAZY! It’s such a simple yet incredibly creative solution, and the way it makes them appear taller is both fascinating and practical.

Recently, I had the chance to explore Ethiopia with @omovalleytours, led by Fitsum, who truly understands ethical and sustainable travel.

When visiting tribes and witnessing their incredible ways of life, it’s so important to choose companies that respect the culture and ensure the communities benefit directly. Omo Valley Tours made sure the experience was respectful and impactful for everyone involved. They’re amazing at their job.

If you’re planning to visit Ethiopia here are some tips:

But FIRST please know that Ethiopia is not the easiest country to travel in. It’s a destination that challenges you, pushes your boundaries, and requires a lot of patience. If you’re not a seasoned traveler, it might feel overwhelming. But if you’re ready for the challenge, Ethiopia will reward you with perspectives you won’t find anywhere else. For me, it was one of the hardest yet most rewarding places I’ve ever traveled to.

➡️Visa Tip: Ethiopia offers e-visas for travelers, but keep in mind that the tourist e-visa is only valid for those entering through Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. You can apply online before your trip!

💵 Carry Cash: Many areas and markets in Ethiopia operate on cash only. Keep enough Ethiopian Birr for daily needs and exchange currency at official counters for the best rates.

👟 Clothing: Ethiopia involves a lot of exploration and walking, so pack clothing that’s comfortable and practical. Comfy shoes are non-negotiable.

So, if you’re planning to visit, do your research, go with an open mind, and prepare for an adventure like no other.

Ethiopia might just surprise you in the best possible way!
