Aakansha Monga Instagram – Did you know🤯?
I recently visited Ethiopia with @omovalleytours and all I can say is, they’ve done an absolutely AMAZING job. Fitsum (the guy behind it) is an ethiopian himself and he’s super passionate about the tribes and culture of his country. You can trust that they’ll provide you an authentic and ethical travel experience.
The more I travel, the more I realize that The idea of ‘beauty’ is so dynamic that what’s considered beautiful in one country might be considered “unattractive” in another. They shift not just from country to country but from era to era.
Here,I witnessed how the tribal women use different techniques to enhance their beauty. This definately challenged what I’ve been conditioned to believe.
This experience really taught me that beauty has No room for judgement. It also made me rethink the narrow beauty standards I was exposed to growing up. In Ethiopia, women who wear tattoos and piercings are not just accepted, but also celebrated as a part of their heritage.
The lesson here is simple: Beauty is constantly changing. In earlier times when fuller body types were more appreciated, and now more slimmer figures are preferred. This shows how fluid beauty really is. It changes with time place and culture.
So, instead of trying to conform to a beauty standard, just be yourself. Authenticity is the only thing that lasts.
