Abigail Hawk Instagram – We did it. One. Hundred. Percent. On. Rotten. Tomatoes.
Pinch us.
To make a movie, especially an indie movie, you have to have an unshakeable level of belief that what you are doing will resonate with people, but we won’t lie: between the time it takes to make something and release it out into the world, any one, us included, is going to experience more than their fair share of doubt and uncertainty.
For us, it took 17 years, and believe us: a lot of doubt, fear and uncertainty was felt in those long gaps of time when seemingly nothing was happening.
But today, this is a win. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Not to mention: best acting awards for BOTH Toby and John, and Kelli is getting an award from Slamdance at the DGA on Monday at the first-ever Indie Awards.
The little indie film that could, because we didn’t listen when people said no.
We back up what we said from the very beginning: don’t ever tell us that #Disabled talent doesn’t have a place or an audience or can’t make good movies.
Because we just proved everyone who said we couldn’t… wrong.
If you haven’t watched the movie yet, please do! As an independent film, we rely on word-of-mouth and audience support to help get the word out.
