my best friend was on her way to work when she saw an injured bird on the sidewalk. She scooped it up and began looking for a veterinarian, which caused her to be late to her job at the World Trade Center. Today and every day I thank God for you. I thank God for your kind heart, which kept you safe. And my soul aches for all the beautiful innocent souls who made it to work on time that day.
