Anshula Kapoor Instagram – Vlogging my way through a Korean hair spa!
Curly hair is more coarse, so I wanted to understand if the Korean hair spa magic (shiny, glossy hair) that I’ve been seeing on girls with straight hair would translate into mine too.
Korean spa is more of a scalp treatment, it’s also meant to help promote hair growth & strengthen the hair by promoting more blood circulation & removing excess buildup/ oil / dandruff.
I tried the head spa at a clinic (@thepreserveclinic) instead of a salon because I wanted the treatment to be overseen by an actual dermatologist. @drshrilekha was super helpful in making me understand the scalp scans before and after the treatment. And she suggested helpful tips for me to combat my dry scalp.
Favourite part – seeing the scalp on the camera, the cervical, shoulder & head massages! And the pre treatment with the essential oil before the hair washing process!
I can see my scalp is much cleaner in the post treatment scan. And without heat styling, my curls are curling and bouncing in a way that makes me so happy!
Things to note:
✅ If you are curly haired & wish to wear your hair in its natural texture after the treatment, it’s best to inform the clinic / salon when you are booking your appointment & ask if they are able to fulfill that request.
✅ I always carry my styling products with me – my curl cream & a curl gel. But you can always check at the time of making a reservation if they offer products for styling curly hair. (I find that most salons don’t always have this handy)
✅The entire process took about 2 hours.
