Anupriya Goenka Instagram – Independence of our nation, our motherland, was the shared efforts of millions of brave hearts. It was a vision of few leaders but was brought about by the strength and shared consciousness of a nation, men and women alike.
Independence and safety of women also has to come from a shared conscience- of each one of our families, when we teach our boys and girls, well in their childhood about respect and equality. The shared conscience of the law enforcement, government, policy makers, to penalise/punish those who violate the right of women, physically, mentally, emotionally or verbally.
It’s a shared responsibility and mission and has to start from our homes and environment.
I am sure all the men – policy makers/ people running institutions/ work places who make careless statements, negate responsibility, validate perpetrators are someones husband, father, son, brother – i hope the women and the sensible men in their families call them out and help them heal.
Start calling out disrespect for women around you!
