CSIR NEERI or National Environmental Engineering Research Institute under Ministry of Science and Technology has come up with manufacturing and certification of green crackers.
⭐️ What are green crackers?
Fireworks that are made with smaller shells, fewer materials, and dust suppressants to reduce emissions and lower air pollution.
⭐️ How are they better than usual firecrackers?
1. They produce 30–35% fewer emissions than traditional crackers.
2. They have a controlled sound and intensity, which makes them less likely to cause mishaps.
3. They do not contain harmful chemicals like arsenic, lithium, and barium, which are found in most traditional firecrackers.
