Diane Sawyer Instagram – Four months of complete happiness led to complete heartbreak for Kristen Anaya, who faced a life-threatening complication after her water broke at just 16 weeks and lost virtually all of her amniotic fluid.
Doctors told Kristen that her daughter could not survive this early in the pregnancy without it. In states where abortion is legal, doctors could race to induce labor to protect Kristen from a deadly infection.
But Kristen is a resident of Texas, where doctors have to be able to prove that their patients are gravely ill before they can provide them care under the state’s abortion bans.
