Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending a prestigious gala in aid of the @acltcharity a charity I’ve been a huge supporter of for years.
The gala was a resounding success, raising an incredible £360,000 for the charity, hosted by my (adopted) family @forbesfamilygroup the whole thing was executed to perfection (special shout out @amarie_hackett who knocked it out of the park ❤️)
I now want to direct your attention to the charity itself, I became a blood donor in 2016, and my eldest daughters each joined the register when they turned 17. As a family, we donate as a norm, but last night I realised, so many of us do not.
With African & Caribbean people being disproportionately affected by sickle cell, we really need to up our numbers as blood donors. It’s not difficult, it’s not painful (I’m petrified of needles and it’s a breeze) and we literally get to save each other’s lives.
In one donation we can save the lives of 3 adults or 6 babies 🥹❤️
