Jasmine Roth Instagram – For many of us (myself included) social media is about posting the good stuff. It’s the moments we’re proud of, that we’re excited to share, that we want to remember, and that we hope will inspire others. It’s a highlight reel and it can bring a lot of joy.
But it’s also important for us all (myself included) to remember that if we aren’t sharing the lows along with the highs, it not the full story.
We had the best day yesterday and these are the times I want to remember. But I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that my family is beyond perfect and the holidays can also be really hard. My extended family has been completely torn apart by mental health issues and addiction. The holidays are a tough reminder of what could have been. It’s a helpless feeling that I know many people struggle with. The ability to compartmentalize my current life and how lucky I am, while also struggling with how much I wish I could help people that I love, is a constant battle for me.
I just wanted to share this because in my opinion these photos are pretty darn perfect (☺️) but that doesn’t necessarily mean everything is easy. If you’re struggling, if the holidays aren’t easy for you, if you sometimes get frustrated by social media – please know you aren’t alone.
