I’ve always loved this show and Wilona was definitely one of my top favorites. It’s pretty interesting when you watch a show (I mean, really watch a show) that you are a huge fan of… say 30 years later. Episodes just hit different. Resonate differently.
I didn’t realize that Wilona was a True Feminist Hero! Absolute…. and Beautifully Unapologetic.💪🏾🤍
This show was dealing with topics that a lot of shows, at the time, wouldn’t dare touch.
As a black actress, I definitely know the shoulders from which I stand… and I’m SO PROUD to be a tiny part in the Black Television Show(s) conversation.

Fun Fact: When I was in my late 20’s, I would run into Ja’Net DuBois frequently at this beauty supply store. First time, I didn’t want to bother her… but the second time and after, all bets were off. LOL!!! She was very generous with her time. She would share quite a few fun stories about her life, her work in the industry and (of course) her love and adoration for her glorious years on Good Times. ✨✨✨
