Coffee is one of the world’s most popular beverages. Roughly two-and-a-quarter BILLION cups are enjoyed every single day!
But the price of coffee beans has hit a RECORD high, and all those coffee drinkers are likely to start feeling it very soon.
It’s been quite a wild ride! Arabica beans just topped three dollars and forty-four cents a pound. That’s up over EIGHTY PERCENT this year alone!
Unfortunately, the world’s top two coffee-producing countries, Vietnam and Brazil, both suffered through some terrible weather. Both saw major droughts, which were then followed by major rainfalls.
So bean output is down, but demand has been rising like crazy. And THAT’s a recipe for the price spike!
Historically, major coffee roasters have absorbed modest price hikes to keep consumers happy. But with these numbers, it’s safe to say our daily grinds are going to get more expensive, soon!
