Paige Chua Instagram – Now that the curtain has come down on the 2 greatest sporting events, I am led to feel that there is an urgency in wanting to build a stronger sporting culture in Singapore.
I would have chosen to go to a sports school if it was a choice that was available during my time, and I’m envious of this era where safety nets are slowly built in place to cushion the landing of the young athletes, if they do fall.
Sports is also more visible and the stories of athletes made more available, with the endless postings on social media.
I hope all these will encourage parents, authorities to be more supportive and understanding towards the sacrifices young athletes are willing to make for the love of their sports.
Congratulations to all athletes involved in the Olympics and Paralympics games.
Singapore is so proud 👏👏
