Sharmila Faruqui Instagram – Defending my Child Marriages restraint bill 2024 before the standing committee on human rights today.Encouraged by the support from the Chairman & the members.. We all realise that in Pakistan almost 19 million girls are married off before the age of 18. The major cause of death of girls between 15-19 is due to pregnancy related complications & child birth. Sindh is the only province which has enacted a law in 2013 and I have the distinction to be the pioneer of this bill supported by my party. Hoping that I’m able to do this in the National Assembly.
