From honoring @nicolekidman’s iconic body of work — and her advocacy for women writers and directors and producers, which has been record breaking over the last seven years — to @selenagomez’s using her platform for oh so much good. My sweet angel! Then we had @kerrywashington presenting scholarship winners, and the dearest @ace.is.wild speaking about her profound documentary. When women change their lives they change the lives of everyone around them. This room was a joy to be in. I adore being a part of this stunning community.

As she accepted her award named after her mentor, Sherry Lansing — who was the first woman to head a major Hollywood studio — Kidman said “there was this woman who was real and interested and had seen my work — which was minimal at that time — but had seen it and talked to me just like I deserved to be there.” And the rest, as they say, was history.
