If you can relate to at least 1-2 of the above, it’s certainly time to rethink your relationship with this person, (ie what they are bringing to the table and what it’s costing you, etc..)
Applies to pretty much any relationship,
but especially very close friendships &
romantic partners…
Or,
basically people that you have expectations from,
people who have the potential to hurt you
because of the position
& the value they hold in your life.
Having said that,
might I also add
not all relationships are meant to be ‘special.
Not all people are meant to be there with you forever.
A LOT of relationships are purely transactional,
or useful ‘contacts’ that you help and get help from, in return.
Also,
In most cases you don’t really need to let them go entirely,
just start drawing stronger boundaries with them and keeping them at arms length.
Keeping things cordial just for the sake of convenience is often better than burning all bridges after all.
