So grateful Zen being a huge fan got us listening too and glad @roopaksaluja and I chaperoned him and a bunch of friends to the #concert @dil_luminatii it was just amaazing! Brought out our half Punjabi sides big time and to watch our #teenage South Bombay son sing all the lyrics made us realise music is such a unifier and common language and sort of a teacher too! Naana and Daadu must be smiling from up above! Ah and for @bangbangmediacorp ‘s ad with @priyankachopra to keep playing was a plus too.
Being a bit of a concert going veteran now especially taking #kids along a few tips that helped us:
– we walked to and from the venue, saved loads of time and hastle with finding cars etc. We live close enough so was possible but for anyone further would suggest walk to as far as possible then take whatever mode of transport.
– got there early to get a good place
– #teens with us so we were mindful to be fun and have fun but not cramp their style haaha hence we had our own little date going on too
– danced in a slightly further back more open area
– made sure our litter went in the trash bin. As a race course lover it saddened me the garbage after but thankful to staff that will clean it up and have it ready for the horses
– wore very comfortable shoes as were on our feet over 6 hours
– take a man, grateful R was with us as getting through the crowds on the way out was scary so a little muscle strength helps. I’m a tough girl and the kids are tough guys too but it does get a bit frightening in those throngs of people. And or wait for it to clear a bit or leave a bit before the end. Much as #kids may resist that.
Ah and special thanks to @himmatsrana and his fab security team for helping us.
#diljitdosanjh you rock! Ah and just discovered we are from the same place as in my Grandparents are from #Phillaur and so are you!
Kudos on the music and Zen playing your tunes on the piano today was so touching.
Kai was at football so didn’t come for the concert. PS not shown much of Zen or friends in this. Again as a mum of teens, being vigilant not to overstep!
