The impact of working with a Black midwife is profound, offering care that truly understands and uplifts. For so many, including myself, this personalized support makes all the difference in bringing new life into the world. FYI, @blackmamasmatter coined the term Black Maternal Health. I was invited to their second convening in 2018 to talk about my nursing journey. This Alliance gave me language for what I experienced during my first birth and a way to move forward. Our bodies still belong to us: reproductive justice NOW!

Then, when I learned all about her #BabyYams quilts and how each purchase supports Black and Indigenous birth workers who dedicate their lives to saving ours, baby I HAD TO LET Y’ALL KNOW!!!
