Tracie Thoms Instagram – And here’s @dionnegipson @rev.tyronetaylor and me cutting up at the Gala! Whenever Dionne and I do these shows, we hardly ever get to play together because we usually play the same role. She does the high high HIGH soprano version, and my show is much more alto/belty. Well, for this show I thought, (especially since I was battling a cold,) why don’t we just do it together??? And Ty is just so much fun to play with every time we have gotten to play together. It was such a beautiful reunion. What you don’t see is the moment after we finished the song. We all just stood there…looked at each other and smiled (the photo at the end is this moment)…and then ran and hugged each other long and hard, right there on that stage. It was a real moment for us after all these 14 years with For The Record, coming together at the @thecinevita…celebrating it and each other.
